*Attitude Era Action* If there's nothing worst than breaking kayfabe off National TV, it's showing when you did on National TV. As DX shows off what was then banned footage. The Full Story: When the MSG incident actually happened in 96, it WAS NOT SCRIPTED as they did it at a non-televised event when the show was over. Just so happened that a fan in the audience recorded it with his cam-corder and it became a big issue within WWF. McMahon was pissed at the fact that they did their farewell in the ring as HBK and Diesel was in a heated feud and had just finished having a cage match right before this. Even tho Nash, Michaels, HHH, and Hall were all real life friends they should've kept it behind the curtain. By them doing it in the ring in front of a live audience they broke character (kayfabe) at a time when wrestling was very believable to fans. So as HBK was the man in WWF at that time and was champ as well, and Nash & Hall were gone to WCW, HHH was the one to take the punishment having taken away what would've been his King of The Ring 96 victory, and making him job (lose) to many wrestlers until 97. When DX formed in 97 they were intended to be rebels who broke rules and pissed off authorities just for a good laugh. So here they showed the footage on the tron as seen here, to piss off McMahon (storyline wise), it was planned to enhance DX as heeled rebels. Obviously by this time McMahon didn't give a damn about the footage so he let it be shown on TV.
